1st Corps is owned by Brothers Simon and Michael Curtis. We have been wargaming and collecting for over 20 years and are fascinated by all periods.
Our aim is to offer products of the highest quality, detail and authenticity that are also great value and backed up by fast and friendly customer service.
Every figure comes complete with all the weapons, shields etc it needs.
Variation We try to put as much of it in our packs as possible our figure packs contain upto 8 different figures.
Command packs and standard packs all contain an even number of figures, no more annoying missing or left over figures.
We cast all our products here in Yorkshire in lead free pewter.
We live in Snaith, a small rural market town located 20 miles south of York in the north of England.
Simon- is the full time member of the team. He does the mold making, casting, dispatch and is responsible for some of the figures you can see on this site. . When not busy with that lot he likes going to the cinema, having a pint and game of darts down at the local hostelry. He also enjoys being taken for a walk by his golden retrievers, Rebel and Cadet
Michael- is also responsible for many of the painted figures on the site as well as product planning and dispatching orders. Mick swears he has no time for anything else! But we know he likes to travel and have a beer down the local hostelry playing darts, and has even been seen down the local gym the next day trying to make amends!

Gripping Beast produce high quality 28mm Metal and Plastic Miniatures for painting and playing, from different eras which include Vikings, Saxons, Saga and from the first crusade.
Gripping Beast was founded in 1996. The company currently based at Beast Towers in Evesham. Far from the traditional “lead belt” of miniature companies in and around the Nottingham area.
At Gripping Beast we cover a wide range of historical periods. Ranging from the Wars of the Diadochi, to the Crusades and even the Gallipoli Campaign of the First World War. As we only produce miniature ranges that interest us. We are able to ensure that we get high quality. Historically accurate and complete ranges that we are proud to sell and that our customers can buy into with confidence.
As one of our major loves is the Viking Age (just look at the range of figures & accessories we do for the period!). We are especially proud to be working with our good friends at Studio Tomahawk as the producer of the official SAGA miniatures range.

Who We Are
Magister Militum was founded in 2002 by Richard and Zoë Clewer. Our company manufactures and imports of some of the finest wargaming figures, scenery and accessories money can buy, with over 14,700 products on our website. We truly are Giants in a Land of Miniatures!
Who Does What?
Richard has a degree in War Studies and a lifelong passion for history of almost all eras matched by an enthusiasm for wargaming and board games to be reckoned with. He researches new ranges, makes the moulds, answers historical enquiries and is half of our double act at trade shows.
We have two fantastic spin doctors, a packaging princess and Zoë spends her time mainly maintaining and improving our website, including photography of newly painted figures - a never ending job!!
Where Are We Based?
We’re based in two industrial units near Salisbury in south west England. This is where we run the manufacturing and mail order part of the business, although you can see our ranges ‘in the flesh’ on the show circuit throughout the UK and parts of Europe. Mission
We have always worked to the principle of providing top quality, inspiring wargaming products. We sell historically accurate ranges, strong in breadth and depth, backed with expert knowledge in a professional manner for you, our customers.
Our History
Magister Militum came into being in 2002, when we began by importing Hallmark Figures 1:6000 ships back into the UK from their new owners in the USA. We soon progressed to manufacturing with the purchase of Navigator Miniatures 28mm ancient ranges and shortly afterwards bought the Chariot Miniatures 15mm range which spans the Biblical era to the Napoleonic Wars and has been in business for over 30 years.
It was during this time that we began producing 10mm Crimean War figures of our own. After a chance conversation with Rick Priestly at a Society of Ancients day, we began a rapid expansion of our fledgling 10mm Ancients range in collaboration with Games Workshop Warmaster Ancients team. This huge range of 10mm figures includes the Medieval era, a massive Napoleonic and Revolutionary Wars range, WW1 and WW2 figures and indeed our scale model dinosaurs.
Next came an expansion into the world of buildings and scenery with JR Miniatures, Baueda and Miniature World Maker from the USA, Italy and Australia respectively.
With GHQ we knew this was a range that couldn’t be beaten on quality or detail, so we had to make this excellent range easily available to you on this side of the Atlantic. We stock over 10,000 packs with deliveries on average every six weeks or so, so you’re never far away from 1:285 heaven.
Latterly, we have begun stocking pleasantly challenging strategy board games, card games and other useful items like bases, paint and brushes and unusual dice. Not to mention our growing range of 10mm fantasy ranges!
We’re always spotting and stocking new products that may interest you, the latest being 15mm Polly Oliver, 28mm Lead Adventure Miniatures, Dark Sword Miniatures which includes the Game of Thrones figures as well as A Song of Ice and Fire, Ozmy Oddzial 3mm and Et Sans Resultat! rules and armies series.

Old Glory Miniatures UK you will find an extensive collection of Wargames figures and miniatures in a variety of scales and sizes from 1/600th Naval to 40mm Collectors figurines.
Old Glory UK started trading in 1992 so that means we’ve been around for a good few years-selling quality models for wargamers and collectors at reasonable prices. During that time we have run up and down the gamut of history a couple of times and continue to import from Old Glory USA- our original parent company some of the finest wargames ranges available. We now also produce a growing range of items here in the UK including Fireforce Miniatures and Lil’flyin’ Fokker's aircraft models- both of these ranges are still growing. Today we have approaching 5000 individual products on our website in scales from 1/600th Naval through 10mm. 15mm, 25/28mm and 40mm all for prices that won’t break the bank. Our miniatures are mostly metal with some resin vehicles , ships and aircraft and our ranges are truly comprehensive , covering most historical periods from Egypt of the Pharaohs to modern conflicts. Our products are compatible with most historically based gaming systems but are not really specifically tied to any specific games system- so the choice is yours.

15mm Blue Moon A still growing range of larger 15mm models Ranges include Ancient Rome , Marlburian. Great Northern War Seven Years War FIW, AWI ,ACW Old West and Plains Wars . A large and growing Napoleonic range and most recently 19th century British Colonial wars and WW1 “Semi-historical” ranges include Deep Dark African Pirates, Gangsters and the 3 Musketeers.
Old Glory 25/28mm- A large range covering Ancient Egypt to WW1- examples include Carthage , Macedonia. Rome and her enemies. The Age of Arthur, The Pike and Shot era, the English Civil Wars the 18th century , from Marlborough to the AWI Over 400 packs of Napoleonic alone- including Napoleon on a Camel!.
An American Civil war range of over 100 packs and a substantial Colonial range for many of the Colonial wars of the 19th and early 20th centuries. We also own the “Brooks Miniatures” range of 28mm Modern miniatures.
Also available from OGUK is the fine range by Sash and Saber covering the ACW in 28mm and also in 40mm together with other 40mm ranges for such diverse periods as FIW, Dark ages and ECW to name just a few.
