Robert Rumfelt, the founder of JR Miniatures, grew up in a house where model building and train layouts were everywhere!  Robert's first models were buildings made from paper towel tubes, cereal boxes, egg cartons and whatever else he could find.  As Robert became older, he also developed a passion for history, especially World War II and the Roman Empire Age.

In 1989, Robert decided to combine his passion for history, art and model building and start a company that produced scale buildings for the gaming industry and thus, JR Miniatures was opened for business.  Initially he operated the company on a part-time basis while working another job and then in April of 2000 his wife Nancy said, "it is time to jump off the cliff and operate full time or clean up the basement"!  Since that time the company has successfully gone full time, hired employees and is getting ready to expand into a new 4,000 square foot facility.

JR Miniatures has terrain and buildings for historical, fantasy and science fiction games ranging in scale from 6mm(1:285) to 28mm and offers over 700 items to choose from.  The company's mission is to provide quality gaming accessories at a price that works with most budgets.

JR Miniatures have a complete online catalogue of everything that we make and each item has a picture so you can see what you are buying.  We are always updating the catalogue and if you have a suggestion on how we can improve the website please let us know!
