Since 1978, Game Design is the name of the business I started after selling my half of Judges Guild. I then produced a travel related board game called Going Places that I sold 5,000 of before going back to Franklin Travel full time. However I have maintained Game Design as a sideline to sell odds and ends while producing lots of free play aids for favorite games.

Wargaming since 1965, I was a founding partner in 1976 of Judges Guild, fantasy play aids publisher for D&D and other game systems. I sold my half of the company in 1978. A fan of the miniature wargame rules, Command Decision, since its 1st edition in 1991, I have made several play aids for CD and another Frank Chadwick game, Volley & Bayonet. Other favorites: Great Battles of World War II, General Quarters 3 and Nuts! I have custom-designed and led wargamers’ battlefield tours. In Europe 1991’s Millennium of Mayhem with James F Dunnigan & Al Nofi, 1997’s Tanks for the Memories, 2003’s Wargame Your Way Across Europe & 2010’s Tour of Battle: France & Belgium Battlefields with Al Nofi, then 2011-2015’s Civil War Train on vintage private train cars to Civil War battlefields.
Game Designers Workshop (GDW) was a wargame and role-playing game publisher from 1973 to 1996. Many of their games are now carried by other publishers.

WARNING: Before playing, open your mind for a new experience of an enjoyable, sometimes tense, wargame that will make you want to come back to play again. You will actually have to develop tactics and command awareness to be good at playing the game.
Godfox Enterprises, LaserGrenadiers extends modern combined arms combat into the future, allowing players to field powered armor infantry, tanks, crewed weapons, tanks, wardrones, helicopters, battledrones or “mechs,” artillery and ground attack aircraft. Vehicle propulsion systems may be wheeled, tracked, grav, hover, rocket or walker. The rules include all types of science fiction weaponry (lasers, cone rifles, phasers, ion cannon, etc.), but do not include psionic warfare. Fire combat dominates the game, with melee combat occurring infrequently. The rules were intended for use with any science fiction figures the players may have, and have been used for battles ranging from a few figures on each side up to the final battles of major campaigns with up to a hundred figures and twenty armored vehicles per side.
The author is an avid wargamer and wargame designer. His primary wargaming periods are: Science Fiction, World War II, Franco-Prussian War, French and Indian War and Fantasy. The author has an AB and MA in history and a PhD in Military History.

Grand Manoeuvre rules form two booklets: an introduction to “Game and Period Fundamentals” and the main part; “The Rules in the Sequence of Play”.
Game and Period Fundamentals is a sixty-one page introduction which provides the background to the period’s warfare; the tactical formations and battle arrays that were used, it explains the grand-tactical manoeuvre of commands and the various forms of skirmishing practices and these are illustrated with colour diagrams.
Information is provided upon how each of the major armies formed line of battle, their methods of re-deployment, their national tactical systems throughout the period and notes on army command structures.
The introduction explains the games` unit, ground and time scales and explains the basis of the rules and the game terms used and in addition to this information, it provides players with general advice on tactics.
National troop classifications and general’s ratings are listed.
The Rules in the Sequence of Play has eighty pages which for clarity’s sake are and spaciously laid out on each page, so that when necessary players are able to find the rule that they are looking for!
