Crocodile Games
Business Name
Long Business Description

Crocodile Games is an association of creative individuals, dedicated to promoting excellence in the miniature gaming hobby. To this end, we are developing our own fantasy world, based on classic themes of mythology and ancient cultures.

This world is known as the "Antediluvian Age", and it is the setting for our WarGods series of games. WarGods is the game that we always wanted play, and it is our pleasure to share our creation with the rest of the world!

Chris FitzPatrick
Fitz sculpted his first miniature about 20 years ago, and has worked for many of the world’s leading miniature companies, including Ral Partha & Games Workshop in the UK. He contributed to the Dark Eldar miniature range for Warhammer 40K and designed the Dark Elf Army for Warhammer Fantasy. Fitz moved back to the USA in 2001, and started Crocodile Games and the WarGods game system. When not working on the next WarGods miniature, Fitz wastes his time playing RPGs, drawing and painting, & watching B-movies. He can even be seen acting in one -- playing the part of "Michael" in the Zombie Horror-Comedy movie "Dead at the Box Office", now available on DVD from amazon.com!

Felicity is no stranger to the world of gaming -- after spending many a year playing wargames and roleplaying games in the UK, she made the move to the USA where she joined forces with Fitz (both in marriage and in business) and together they make an unstoppable force! Felicity tries to keep things in ship-shape and working order back at the office and handles the sales, administration, graphic layout and painting.

Des Hanley - Artist
In real life, Des sits high atop his tower and gazes at the outside world and wonders: "what's the real world like?" After escaping from a small cubicle in the Games Workshop Design Studio, Des found himself wandering in an open desert. Within, he found some lost ruins & later revealed to him as the lost land of Ægyptus. But seriously, after 4 years as an in-house illustrator for GW, Des felt like a change of view... since then he has worked as a Conceptual Artist for The Lord of the Rings miniature range by Harlequin (now Black Tree Designs,) and provided numerous illustrations for FASA's Vor, the Maelstrom game. Des still does the occasional piece for Games Workshop's Black Library, with his pieces featured frequently in the pages of Warhammer Inferno!

John Wigley - Artist
John spent five years working inhouse for Games Workshop UK, after leaving Games Workshop he went to work for Mobius Entertainment as a concept artist, then spent several years working freelance for company's such as White Wolf games, Crocodile Games, AEG, Sabertooth and the Black Library.
Recently John worked for two years as a inhouse Concept artist for Rockstar Leeds UK.

Todd S. Harris - Sculptor
Todd S. Harris started sculpting three years ago, working in the evenings and weekends on historical 28mm miniatures. He began working full-time in July of 2001, sculpting figures for Reaper, WizKids, and Crocodile Games. Todd, who has had some formal art training, has been drawing, painting, model-building, wargaming, painting figures all his life, and feels that he has finally found a career that suits him. Sure enough, Todd is proving to be one of the rising stars of the miniature industry.

Ben "Hollywood" Siens - Sculptor
Somewhere on the sunny beaches of southern California is Ben Siens -- wearing Bermuda shorts and sipping exotic cocktails (you know, the kind with the little umbrella in the glass.) World renown for sculpting on the beach while wearing sunglasses, Ben designed his first miniature in November of 1999, and much to his surprise (but not ours!) has been designing them ever since. He cites playing with clay during his formative years as the basis of his formal training. Besides his excellent work for Crocodile Games, Ben has worked for such other companies as Reaper, Pegasus, and Wizards of the Coast. When asked about his goals, Ben says: "I hope that one day my skill catches up to my imagination, at which point you can all acknowledge me as the master of all things small . . . or not!"

Ryan Markle - Writer
Bryan Steele - Writer
Bryan has been a gamer for over two decades, but only professionally so for nearly one. Starting his career as a writer for Privateer Press in 2002 with the award-winning Warmachine: Prime and Iron Kingdoms RPG lines, Bryan soon moved on to working as a prolific staff writer for Mongoose Publishing for nearly six years. Despite having known Chris Fitzpatrick for many years, Bryan has only just begun his foray into Crocodile Games...and cannot seem to get enough! Now working happily as a freelance writer and miniature artiste through his own company Ursa's Den (www.ursasden.com), he sells his pen and brushes to the highest bidder as a self-styled "Mercenary of Gaming".

Herb Gundt - Model Maker
Since the cold winters of the past century, Herb has been creating models in his small, isolated workshop, hidden in the vast maize fields of far away northern Hoosierland. Although difficult to locate, Herb has managed to construct numerous modeling projects for a vast number of satisfied customers around the world. His client list includes Armorcast, Conquest Miniatures, Eureka Miniatures, Foundry Miniatures, Lucas Publishing, Old Glory Miniatures, Paizo Publishing, Wizards of the Coast, hundreds of private collectors and, of course, the amazing Crocodile Games. When rare sightings of Herb occur, he is usually seen covered in sawdust and paint, with disheveled hair and muttering things like “who’s calling me now” as he looks for a broom and dustpan.

Crooked Dice Game Design Studio
Long Business Description

Crooked Dice specialise in wargames rules and miniatures inspired by the many and varied iconic worlds of 60s-70s Cult TV.

Crooked Dice is me, Karl Perrotton – the lovechild of David Baddiel and an excitable control freak. A graphic designer by trade and a geek by birth, an unhealthy interest in old sci-fi TV and miniature gaming seemed a frankly ludicrous combination for setting up Crooked Dice.

Crooked Dice is small but perfectly formed. It’s a one man operation – so I write, design and produce all the rules, spec the miniatures, run the webstore, answer the emails and forum posts and do all the packing and shipping. Our output is small and perfectly formed – running the creative end from our secret underground bunker.

Our pewter casting is thanks to the miracle workers at Griffin Moulds (Jane, Rob and Lisa), Andy at Ainsty Castings and Martyn at MDP for production of our lovely toys.

Special thanks must go to the amazing sculptors who have brought the 7TV world to life: Jo Brumby, Martin Buck, Mark Evans, George Fairlamb, Shane Hoyle, Andrew Maclachlan, Andrew May, Steve McGuire, Neil Mckenzie, Ian Mountain, Andrew Rae, Greg Storey, Bill Thornhill, Ernst Veingart and Kev White.

For dazzling brushwork, we need to thank: Jon Atter, Simon Bradley, Martin Buck, Kev Dallimore, Mark Dixon, Matt Slade and Andrew Taylor.

Who Are We?

Neal Sofge, Super Genius

Neal Sofge was born in 1959 in Ann Arbor Michigan. He left home at the age of 14 and hitch-hiked to Maine, where he worked for several years on a fishing trawler. All the while he was reading the German Idealists, and it was a remark by Schopenhauer about suicide that prompted Neal to depart Maine and strike out for New York City.

There, he formed a punk-rock band, the Pulpit Thumpers. In its brief, tumultuous existence, the band released several 7" singles, an LP ("23 Skidoo"), and contributed to the seminal compilation album "Welcome to Your Life," which documented the vibrant NY thrash scene. Later, such bands as Gorph and Ten Eyed Crawfish would cite the Pulpit Thumpers as a primary influence.

Unfortunately, just as major label success seemed near at hand, the band imploded. First their bass player had a psychotic episode while riding the "R" train and had to quit the band. Shortly thereafter the drummer moved to Austin, Texas, in order to raise a child. For several months Neal drifted about, working at a Mexican fast food place, playing first edition Traveller, and going to the Sunday hard core matinees at CBGBs, the mecca for punk rock in New York City.

It was at CBGBs one day that Neal met Mike Wasson. The two quickly discovered a mutual interest in RPGs and wargaming, and decided that very afternoon to form a game company. On their way to a coffee shop to discuss the new project, they passed a man selling religious tracts on the sidewalk. The tracts depicted a rotund figure similar to the "fat guy" who would later adorn the FMG logo.

Inspiration struck. Neal exclaimed, "Hey, let's call the company Fat Messiah Games!" Thus the fledgling company got its name, and the rest (so the cliche goes) is history.

In over 5 years Neal has never replaced this biographical note, which is utter rot and nonsense.

Mike Wasson, Senior Logician (Emeritus)

Mike Wasson's, Suffice it to say that he is rich, extremely good looking, moves only in the most fashionable social circles, and is highly sought after for his views on art, music, literature, world politics, rocket science, the fashion scene, and so forth. He recently completed a 1200-page novel, Sorrow Amid Gloom.

Fire and Fury Games our designers of wargame miniatures rules. Fire and Fury Games, Battlefront WWII and Regimental Civil War wargame miniatures rules.

Fire and Fury, Wargaming the American Civil War in Miniature, was first released in 1990 and remains one of the most popular historical military miniatures wargames in the hobby. The Second Edition, Brigade Fire and Fury with its companion, the Great Western Battles Scenario Book, are designed to refight the big battles of the Civil War. The basic tactical unit represents a brigade, which allows a player to command an entire division or corps, and several players to control large opposing armies on the tabletop. The larger scale allows you to refight Gettysburg, Antietam, Shiloh and other epic battles of the war.

Regimental Fire and Fury, with its two supplemental scenario books, Volume 1: 1861-1862 and Volume 2: 1862-1863, allow players to command smaller tactical units and refight in greater detail many of the war's smaller engagements, as well as the critical actions within the conflict's famous battles. A player takes on the role of a brigadier general leading his regiments into battle, as they charge across the Wheatfield at Gettysburg, storm Henry House Hill at First Bull Run, or exchange volley fire with the Iron Brigade on Brawner's Farm.

Battlefront WWII is a military miniatures wargame that focuses on the tactical decisions faced by a battlegroup commander during a small unit action. The tactical unit is the squad or section. A stand of guns or heavy weapons represents a unit of two or three of the same type. Similarly, each vehicle model represents two or three vehicles. Squads and sections are organized into company-sized maneuver elements and battalion or regimental-sized battlegroups. The fast moving play sequence and intuitive graphic player aids enable players to concentrate on the intricacies of combined arms tactics without having to master complex game mechanics. Task organization and tactics are rewarded or penalized in a manner that appear historical to the gamer.
