Who am I?
My name is Jörg Bender.
Uups, there is no letter ö in your alphabet? So let’s make it Joerg.
I am German and came to the US with my family in January 2014, when my wife, Petra, started working for the employer of her dreams. And she still does.
For me, this meant becoming a homemaker at first. And after about 1.5 years I decided to start my own business, based on what I have done before. Back in Germany I had an online store www.pumika.de and I sold dollhouse and wargaming miniatures. Mostly conventional retail items from all over the world (Europe, USA, Canada, Japan), some of them hard to find in Germany.
Why „Things from the Basement“?
Over the last 20 something years or so my spot for designing, building and painting miniatures of all sorts was the basement. And now it is again! So why not call my business “Things from the Basement, LLC”? And to show that I am serious about it, I registered as an LLC.
What does “Things from the Basement” do?
Well, obviously selling dollhouse and wargaming miniatures. But this time my intention is to do it a bit differently.
Again I am selling dollhouse and wargaming miniatures, with the focus being wargaming.
I design and manufacture laser-cut HDF (High Density Fiberboard) kits for 28mm, 15mm and 20mm figures. All kits are highly detailed, yet easy to assemble. Buildings open up for easy access during gaming. Most kits are made of a variety of materials like HDF, chipboard, paper and whatever else is needed to create realistic and functioning models for your gaming table.
My ranges cover several historical periods and geographical areas as well as Fantasy and Science Fiction. And in case you can’t find what you are looking for: time allowing I also do custom projects!
In addition to that you will find complementary products from different companies. Mostly from Europe and not always easy to find in the US.
Will “Things from the Basement” sell on trade shows?

Anything else?
Yes, as I have already mentioned my family in the beginning, I have to add that there are two more women in my life besides my wife Petra: First there is Paula, our daughter, and second Sasha, our cat!
And all three of them support me in realizing my American dream!

Tiger Terrain models are cast using high quality polyurethane resin, unless stated otherwise, because it replicates fine detail, is lightweight, shatter proof and easily customised.
No release agent is used in casting in order that the model should be ready to paint. This generally limits mould life to 25 to 30 castings per model. To some extent this makes them limited edition, because once a mould is worn out it may be some months before it can be replaced, or the model may be removed from the range to make way for a new one.
The models are carefully cast & finished by hand in order that they should require minimal or no filling before painting.
For fixing components thick grade superglue or contact adhesive can be used.
The ‘drop in’ windows & separate shutters are unique Tiger Terrain features in 15mm scale models.
The windows may require trimming or light sanding to fit and may be customised to represent broken glass panes and glazing bars. The window openings have rebates to locate the windows when gluing in place.
Tiger Terrain models are for adult collectors and not suitable for children under 14 years of age.

TimeCast started in 1999 with a small range of about fifteen 6mm model buildings. Tymeagain Ltd started designing and making toys and games here in the Wylye Valley, Wiltshire, England in 1994. Almost three decades later, our toys and model kits are still more than just designed in Britain, they are MADE in Britain, from start to finish.

Tymeagain has always been and still remains a family run business. Hellyn and Ben Cresswell-Jeal started Tymeagain because of their children. Tymeagain Ltd will be branching out into more historical toys and games. We hope to bring out more home accessories, whether they are wooden in nature or environmentally friendly household items, and we are wanting to expand a range of Wylye ValleyCrafts lasercut model kits for gifts and projects.

Valiant Miniatures produce high quality 1/72 (i.e. 1 inch/25mm = 6 feet) scale World War Two hard plastic figure sets for gamers, modellers and collectors. All our plastic products are manufactured in the UK from hard plastic which means the models can be easily assembled with ordinary polystyrene glue.
Alternative heads, optional arms and equipment such as backpacks are provided for simple conversions and adding variety. The gallery pages show how versatile the models are and feature conversion ideas.
Our models are deliberately robustly designed to have character and presence. Many customers comment on what a delight they are to paint – taking both acrylic and enamel paints with ease unlike most soft plastic figures. I know the prices of getting your files printed is pretty restrictive at times so here at WOW Buildings we would like to offer you the chance to save some of your hard earned hobby savings.
I have started selling licences for people to be able to sell the printed versions of my designs, for that reason i don't print myself anymore, i want to concentrate on designing so the files will be available through WOW Buildings but printing is done by the licensees.
the licenced sellers also have full rights to sell the printed versions and can set their own prices. i am happy to steer you to them if you let me know where you are based i will let you know who is in your zone as best i can.
I do myself have a few contacts here in the UK who have the licence and will do you very competitive quotes so again just let me know what you are looking for and i will pass you on to them, please bear in mind printed items although i guarantee the files will print i am not connected to the printers so once i pass you on the deal has no connection to WOW Buildings
