JD's Games publisher of the ruleset Blood and Rust is a game that grew out of my desire to see a Mad Max game in 28mm scale.

My name is JD. I run a small, primarily e-business (JD's Games) for gaming. I am in Oklahoma & hope to possibly expand to a brick & mortar store before long.

I’ve been gaming for almost 25 years now & greatly enjoy tabletop miniature, advance board, card, and video games.

I’m also an avid outdoorsman & love hiking, swimming, climbing, horseback riding & 4-wheeling.

However, this sight is going to be predominantly all about gaming, including my upcoming Mad Max themed miniatures ruleset.

Formed in 1996, Jolly Roger Games designs and publishes a wide variety of strategy board games for the tabletop market, with a preference for games based on historical topics and storytelling themes. Jolly Roger Games’ past titles include innovative and award winning designs such as Scream Machine, Victory & Honor, Four Dragons, A Nation on Trial, The Chicago Way, Swashbuckler, and Orcs at the Gates.

In addition, our recent title Founding Fathers, has received critical acclaim for its game play surrounding the unexpected and unique topic of the Constitution of United States.

Letter from the founder.

Dear Gamers,

Almost twenty years ago, I started Jolly Roger Games because I believed that I had an awesome game that needed to see the light of day, a Civil Wars miniatures rules set. Running it past established companies, I was told “You don’t have any published games, so go away.” Rather than be discouraged, I decided to publish it myself, becoming a publisher in addition to being a retailer (I owned two stores at that time). I wanted to create a company which found unique angles to games, offered a chance to new designers to bring their games to press, and making sure to do that without breaking a gamer’s bank account.

Over the years, I learned so much because I made mistakes! In time though, Jolly Roger grew and in addition to new designers, I published games from critically acclaimed designers, too, until Jolly Roger grew too big for one person to do.

So what does the future hold for us? Well, this past summer at Origins 2015, an opportunity came up that was perfect and changed Jolly Roger Games forever. I had the chance to merge Jolly Roger into Ultra PRO as they began producing board and card games, so that now, I have the opportunity to bring great games to press with the support of a bigger company with dedicated marketing and sales staffs. Most important to me though, Ultra PRO said they want to run the company like a big family—and the best part, it’s exactly how it works. I love that and I love watching Jolly Roger Games, a baby I brought into the world, grow up, grow bigger, and I hope you are as excited as I am to see what the future brings for Jolly Roger and Ultra PRO.

Junkhouse Entertainment is a nation-wide and coast to coast print publishing company that promotes artists of all kinds, provides a launch pad for their ideas, and brings a package of market knowledge and resource infrastructure to the table that helps convert those ideas into tangible realities.

Formed in 2008 with the intention of protecting the rights and properties of our fellow musicians, we have evolved into a full-service Publishing Corporation. We currently provide publishing services to several authors from the Northern Virginia area and almost 50 artists of all sorts, from photographers and novelists, to musical acts.

Do you have a book or game idea? We work with artists across the spectrum, from those wanting to sell their works in the open market place for profit, to those that would simply like an online image gallery to develop and display to the public for free.

Behind the scenes of all of this, we also design and publish Historical and Family Fun (beer & pretzels) table top games. Panzerknacker Games, the gaming division of Junkhouse Entertainment LLC specializes in 6mm, 15mm & 20mm miniature wargaming. Look for it in the store!

Originally founded by five friends in the Summer of 2008, Junkhouse Entertainment first opened its doors as a business interested in protecting the rights of local artists in Northern Virginia. With time and effort our gallery of images has expanded and we have been able to create more than 20 in house products for sale to the world. Over the years we have grown steadily into a low-asset, high energy design firm that includes literary publishing, promotion, and product design.

We have worked with a wide range of people across the country, while keeping our roots in the NOVA area, and offer a variety of production contracts and project start-up options to new and experienced artists.

Junkhouse Entertainment is an Environmentally Green company that uses recycled paper in our offices where possible, and uses a "once-shipped" shipping policy wherever possible on sales, both retail and wholesale.
