Skinner Games was created out of a love for gaming and a desire to create the games and settings the creators would like to play. Niklas and James have known each other for many years and have a mutual love of games of all kinds. Though they have often discussed making games over the years, it wasn't until recently that they decided to actually give it a shot. Thus, Skinner Games was born! With an eye looking back at what made games fun for them through the years, we look to the future of tabletop gaming. Skinner Games closely analyzes the trends from the past and deconstructs contemporary systems in the hope of producing games that will be at the forefront of the industry.

Niklas Skinner

Growing up in the emerald forests of the Pacific Northwest, Niklas developed a sense of wonder and adventure. He became obsessed with mythology and story telling at a young age when a librarian read J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit to his class. Since then, he has devoured all of Tolkien's works, explored every major mythology and is currently deconstructing the roots of Fantasy literature. His love affair with gaming started close to 20 years ago and he has played every major game system, and some really obscure ones. Graduating in 2011 from Brigham Young University - Idaho with a degree in Literature Studies, Niklas currently works full time for a federal contractor. He loves to read, write, paint miniatures, cook, sketch, study history and historical combat. His favorite past time is spending time with his beautiful wife and two little girls.

James Curwen

James E. Curwen's fixation with the cartoons he grew up on in the 80's led him to pursue an art degree from Portland State University. However, through some strange twist of fate, he ended up studying and making a career in molecular biology. Undeterred by these circumstances, he constantly has had several art projects on the side, including creating book covers and illustrating for clients. The classes he took in drawing, painting, and printmaking prepared him to make works of art in a diverse array of media. His favorites include pencil, pen, and Sculpey, though he spends most of his time producing digital art on Photoshop. When he isn't creating something new, he enjoys reading, team sports, hiking, and spending time with his wife. They live with their daughter somewhere in the western half of the United States.
