The game “Iron Cross” was born out of the desire of a group of “wargamers” from the 70s / 80s to simulate their historical battles from WWII, made in the past with maps and tokens, using this time miniatures and 3D scenarios suitable to represent small and medium scale tactical actions. We started in 2004, with the launch of our 1st — edition and in the following two years, with the publication of several modules for the system. The system stopped in 2007, due to some problems with the miniatures and the need to rewrite the rules, since they were already well changed, due to the publication of several articles and modules by us. We left the game in the public hands for a long time, and in this year 2020, we are back in action.

We´ve been wanting to make small changes to the system for a few years now, mainly with regards to the measurement scales and the introduction of the Suppression Fire mechanic. In this new edition we will make this more realistic, in addition to working on three different booklets in our system. However for you who play our first edition, our material remains 100% compatible, as we believe that changes should not harm our old material. That’s why we’re going to work with our players to keep the gameplay original and above all fun.

The main changes we would like to point out are the following:

      – Changing the metric system from cm to inches

      – 3 rules booklets will be published; the first for infantry, the second for armored vehicles and artillery, the third for special or advanced rules, which we are developing. This decision was made as we try to bring greater modularization to our system and thus increase the playability and reach for both new and veteran players.

      – The scale adopted will be 1/300, but we intend to address the 15mm scale in the future, as it is very popular among gamers.

This is the first booklet: Infantry Rules. Game will always be in the pay what you want modality, but if you can contribute to our work, we appreciate it. We are wargame players like you who are reading these rules. We want to bring you the best and provide hours of fun at your gaming tables.

      This initial set contains:

      – German, USA, French, Japan, Soviet, British, Italian and Poland 6mm infantry STL files for 3d printing

      – 3 Free Houses STL files for 3d printing

      – Game Markers (paper and STL)

      – 1 Player Aid

      – 1 rule booklet
