Aotrs Shipyards is a webstore on Shapeways.com, a 3D print house which had production and shipping facilities located in the USA and the the Netherlands.

For October, we have the next wave of Xyriat vessels: more ships-of-the-line.

Xoyriet Heavy Cruiser

The Xoyriet Heavy Cruiser was built for one particular job – long–range fire support. Unusually for a Xyriat vessel, it carries only a few particle beam turrets for point defence and only a few small-calibre light torpedo tubes. Instead, the primary armament comes in the form of the twelve rail cannons – four or three different calibres. The advances in rail cannon technology and compactness resulting from the Xyriat’s advances in torpedo technology allow the Xoyriet to deploy an enormous amount of firepower for a vessel of its size – at the expense of only being armed with spinal-mount weapons.

Xoyriets ae typically used to pick off smaller enemy vessels or start to strip shields and armour on larger ones during the initial approach. A formation of Xoyriets does not always follow the main formation past or through the enemy, but will break off in a wide loop to end behind the main formation as it manoeuvres for its second pass.

Xariet Destroyer

The Xariet Destroyer is somewhat unusual in the Hegemonic Navy in that it does not carry any light torpedo tubes at all. Instead it is armed entirely with heavy and light particle beam turrets for anti-capital starship and point-defence operations.

The Xariet is most often used as an escort for larger vessels, where its heavier particle beams are used to assist the stripping of shields and armour.

The Xariet boasts only average mobility for a vessel of its size, but has strong shields and heavy armour.

The Verat Light Frigate is a general-purpose warship. Overhauled several times in it service history to keep it modern, the Verat has something of a reputation for mediocrity; it reputedly never seems to perform especially well or especially badly and is considered a “safe” but uninteresting vessel to serve upon. A strict reading of historical events fails to support this theory, but the myth holds true on most of the Hegemonic Navy’s serving crews.

The Verat is a common sight supporting larger vessels or leading groups of smaller ones.

The Verat is armed with a variety of particle beam turrets for use against capital or small craft and a handful of small light torpedo turrets.

Next month, we wrap up the last of the current collection of Xyriat Hegemony vessels with the supporting vessels.
