The WoFun's miniatures come ready-printed in full colour, and all you have to do is simply press them from their sprue and slot them into their bases. No paints, no glue – all the hard work has already been done for you!
This is how it's began
To play and fully enjoy a war-game and, in a way, recreate the history in your living room, you need figurines representing the armies that you want to play with and props and scenery to build the battlefield.
We faced this challenge when we wanted to build a tabletop game of the Battle of Arbela from 331 BC, and we started to search for alternative ways to make beautiful tabletop games. After a while, our tabletop game project became a search for a new, affordable miniature designed with very high-quality details as a component of a wargame with hundreds of miniatures.
The journey
To create a miniature game, you must be a good craftsman—you need to buy miniatures and props from different sources and glue and paint them. For an army with hundreds of figurines, this usually means hours of crafting time or a big budget.
We performed tens of thousands of tests until WoFun Minis came out as they are today. Little by little, we worked on the smallest details for the more than 4000 unique miniatures. Each prototype brought us closer to the final product: a flat miniature printed face and back with a detailed character and shadows that trick the eyes and give a 3D perspective to the figurine.
Love at first sight
Assembled together, a WoFun Minis group of soldiers looks like a respectable army company on the battlefield. Each character is unique and has a different facial expression, beard, or hairstyle and, of course, accurate army dressing.
It felt amazing when we played our wargame with hundreds of miniatures. We felt like we were bringing history into our homes, and this feeling gave the name of our company, World of Fun Games.
The Kickstarter Campaign
Bring History into Your Home aims to raise public interest in historical wargames by giving people the opportunity to create beautiful, immersive tabletop battles quickly and easily.
During the six months of intense work, the WoFun team practiced all the processes for creating, producing, and shipping the miniatures. These processes are the foundation of WoFun Games, aiming to reach our goal of 16,000 miniatures that cover all world history. 160% of the Kickstarter funding goal, more than 500 photos, 2600 figurines redesigned, 1620 new models, three new bases systems, and 7500 drawings are a few results that show our team commitment to the project goals.
The Present
We just finished the last collection from our KS project. The Napoleonic 1815 - Waterloo Collection is exceptional for us because it was not part of our initial KS rewards. This collection emerged entirely from our collaboration with the backers' community.
