Crann Tara Miniatures

Crann Tara Miniatures
Business Genre
Long Business Description

Crann Tara Miniatures produces a range of 1/56 scale figures (approximately 30mm in height) the figures were originally sculpted by Richard Ansell, however Andy Stadden has now taken up the mantle.

John Dougan also sculpts part time and his main interest is the War in Savoy and we will see more from him over time.

We aim to make this the most comprehensive range of figures for the ’45 rebellion. This year should bring the Rebellion range of figures almost to an end.

I have decided to focus on the period in the mid-1740’s and therefore releases for the French, British, Savoia and Spain ( The Savoia, Spanish and some of the French are sculpted by John Dougan) are also appearing and there will be a few surprises along the way.

Cast in white metal by Griffin moulds these figures are some of the finest sculpted and cast. They are fully compatible with Fife and Drum miniatures and Minden Miniatures both of which are available from Jim Purkey in America.

All about Crann Tara Miniatures
Believing that the Jacobite Rebellion of the ’45 has been a ‘poor relation’ in terms of figure ranges and gaming periods Crann Tara Miniatures was formed by Graham Cummings in 2012. My aim being to provide a comprehensive range of figures to depict this exciting period.

I have been a figure painter, collector and gamer for more years than I care to remember. I have chosen to release figures which portray the uniforms and equipment on campaign, as a result many of the figures being released are unique and will provide the gamer, painter and collector with an opportunity to present this period as it should be.

With fours almost passed the Jacobite armies are nearing completion and Crann Tara is slowly moving into Europe – centred around the French and British armies.

Richard Ansell is my primary sculptor and focuses on the Jacobites, French and English.

John Dougan is my second sculptor, he sculpts part time as a hobby and is focussing upon the war in Italy at this time so you will see a slowly growing range of Savoia and Spanish forces.

Finally from time to time I do conversions or half sculpts and whilst most of these don’t make general sale some do get released as specials with limited numbers.

I trust you will have as much enjoyment collecting these figures as I have in securing their release.
