Black Hat Miniatures, formed in 2004 with the aim of specialising in producing high quality 18mm wargames figures. Initially Black Hat was a part-time business and our initial range was the 18mm Martian Empires Victorian Science Fiction range.
In August 2006, we purchased Gladiator Miniatures and Coat D’arms paints from Gladiator Games. To add to our existing ranges and started to produce the figures ourselves rather than outsourcing the casting and mould making.
Since then, we have also bought the rights to ranges from Outcast Miniatures, Crusader Miniatures and the Dragon Kings Chinese range from BC Miniatures as well as developing our own new ranges.
Black Hat Miniatures became an. (almost) full-time business in May 2008. And became completely full-time in May 2011. We now sell white-metal figures, rules, bases, magnetic basing material, Baeuda scenery and distribute Coat D’arms paints
Mike Lewis runs Black Hat Miniatures, who has been a wargamer for many years and may known to some through DragonLords RPG fanzine from the 1980s. He also writes (and occasionally sells) Science Fiction and Fantasy stories (see www.mikelewis.info for more details).
The wargaming ranges are now with the following companies:
All 15mm / 18mm ranges sold to Fighting15s.
The 28mm Tales of the Dragon Kings range sold to Scotia Grendel.
The WW1 fantasy Goblins and halflings now owned by Macrocosm Miniatures.
All the other 25/28mm ranges sold to Bridge Miniatures.
The 54mm Little Wars Visited Range is now available through the Imperial Miniatures website.
