The Kris And The Flame (2003)

The Kris And The Flame Third Edition Rules “Rajah Brooke,” “The White Rajah,” and Kipling’s inspiration for The Man Who Would Be King, all were the same Englishman–James Brooke. Determined to make a country of his own, and to bring the blessings of Victorian Civilization to the headhunters and sometime cannibals of Borneo, he fought for years to make the dream come true, founding Sarawak which would be his family enterprise for a century. And during much of the first fifty years or so, Brooke, often with the help of the Royal Navy, fought against the endemic piracy and slaving of the East Indies and South China Seas. On land and at sea, battles were fought between some of the most colorful peoples and personalities of all time, in pitched ship-to-ship actions, campaigns through jungle and swamp, and up-river expeditions to shatter pirate forts.

After some 17 years, TVAG has revisited this subject with a vengeance! After months of research and development along with original author, Chris Ferree, this new edition is about to be ready. With the advent of the new 3D printed ship models, originally only a dream all those years ago, TKATF demanded to be updated and expanded to cover all aspects of the battles now possible to recreate on the table top. Every detail of the game is now represented in miniature, and the resulting battles are only more exciting and varied than ever.

New full color play aids in the form of professionally printed Turning Circles for different Ship Types, Wind Gauge and Strength Markers, and two dedicated Game Decks (“Action” and “Battle Damage” totaling 115 cards), as well other special markers for “Shallows,” “Pit Traps” (Ranjows), and the original “Bravado” Counters. All are available as part of the TKATF Graphic Supplement which may be purchased separately.

However, these are offered for FREE in B&W and reduced sized b&w formats simply by E-mailing TVAG and requesting them.
