Death Fields: The Greatest Sport is War

For thousands of years, advanced alien civilizations have visited the Earth for one purpose: to steal their bravest warriors. For centuries, the cream of Earth’s soldiers have been taken against their will to fight, die, and be reborn in arenas throughout the galaxy.

The Game Guilds provide some of the most watched sport in the known universe with matches broadcast in thousands of systems. A perennial favorite of sports fans everywhere are the humans – a race from the far edge of the galaxy.

Over the millennia, the finest warriors of that backwater planet have been brought to the arenas to fight each other and a host of other sentient species and deadly creatures. Even now, thousands of years since abductions began, Recruiters still acquire the best of Human space’s warriors for the games.

The humans go on in their tiny light-years bubble of space attacking each others colony worlds, believing themselves the most advanced race in the universe while the rest of the galaxy watches their immortal ancestors fight and die in the Death Fields…

The Death Fields will be a constantly expanding range building toward a future game release once we have enough plastic sets and factions.

Quar

It seems the Quar have always been at war. When the first wandering clans of insect gatherers built their low, mud-walled buildings, it was as much to keep out other Quar as the wild animals. As they first learned to make tools to get food, they quickly learned to make tools to defend themselves. The mud walls quickly became fortified citadels, and then city-states. In five thousand years of civilization, the only constants of their culture have been the changing of the seasons and the threat of war.

Might of Rome

Anchored by the Citizens of Rome box designed for the Gangs of Rome game, this will be an occasional range focused on Rome from the fall of the Republic to the reign of Diocletian.

Decline and Fall

Diocletian and the later Emperors try to hold the Western Empire together as massive migrations of people from the east eat like a never-ending tide against her borders. Meanwhile, powerful people within the Empire vie for control that often leads to civil war. 

This range will roughly cover the period from the crisis of the 3rd century through to the fall of the Western Empire and beyond. Some sets from our Blood Oaths range may be useful here as well. We will start with Romans in lorica hamata and will soon add Goths, Franks, and Army Builder sets for both the Romans and the Goths. 

Blood Oaths

Blood Oaths: After Rome Falls Who Will Conquer? This is our Dark Age range covering from the fall of the Western Roman Empire through to the Viking period. The first set for this range is Dark Age Irish.

The Age of Chivalry

Camelot! Knightly Quests! Honorable Tournaments! The truth was much more grim…and deadly. The Age of Chivalry is our range covering the 12th through mid-15th centuries. We kick things off with Foot Knights suitable for the 12th and 13th centuries into the early 14th. Sergeants, Levy, cavalry, and more to follow. 

Renaissance

Although the Renaissance of the 15th to 17th centuries marked an awakening of European culture, art, political and philosophical thought, and ushered in an age of discovery it was also a time of war. 

The kings and queens and lesser nobility of Europe were engaged in nearly constant conflicts throughout the period. This range will explore topics in this time in Europe, the Americas, and across the world.

Napoleon’s Wars

The trumpets sound and boots and hooves thunder over the fields of battle as Napoleon’s wars raged across Europe and around the world. Our ever-expanding range will bring both iconic units and less well known ones to your tabletop.

Imperial Conquests

Imperial Conquests: Battles in the Age of Empire 1815-1914. This range primarily focuses on colonial warfare although we may branch out a bit within the time frame. We are kicking it off with Afghans that are actually suitable for about 1700-1920 or so (longer if you can find some arms with AK-47s and RPGs!)

Great War

World War One was known as “The War to End All Wars” and changed the nature of warfare forever introducing mass trench fighting, barbed wire, poison gas, and widespread use of the machine gun.

Our range begins in the Late War period of the Western Front for the years 1916-1918.

World Ablaze

The Second World War of 1939-1945 engulfed almost the entire globe and was the most devastating conflict in human history. Our range, World Ablaze, will over time cover topics across all theaters of the war. We start with the brave French Resistance.
