Deeside Defenders is the largest gaming club in North Wales. We are based at the Daniel Owen Association Community Centre, Earl Road, Mold, Flintshire, North Wales.
Being conveniently based close to the North Wales and Cheshire border gives the club a very wide catchment area. With players regularly attending from as far as Wrexham, The Wirral and the North Wales coast.
The club member ship stands at over 100 members with a good majority regularly attending our weekly Thursday club nights. Members come to the club to play wargames, roleplaying games, board games and collectable card games. From across the region, including Mold, Buckley,Queens Ferry, Chester, Wrexham, Flint and as far as the Wirral.
Deeside Defenders play wargames, board games, role playing games as well as collectable card games in the main. We have tried to list some of the games and gaming systems played by the club in the Gaming Section of this site. We are fortunate to have a large venue with plenty of tables and boards. The variety of games, scales and periods played is very large. So you can usually find someone in the club who plays a particular game or system.
Deeside Defenders meets each Thursday night
The club meets each Thursday night from 6.30pm till 10.00pm Daniel Owen Association Community Centre. With plenty of gaming tables available as well as access to the licensed bar and refreshments next door. Parking is free and available at the immediate entrance to the factory site. The Broughton Retail Park is also situated a few hundred meters away providing food and general shopping. As well as a petrol station for show attendees wishing to fill up.
We also have a bi weekly Sunday gaming session from 11.00am till 5.00pm.
The club does not have an annual member ship fee presently, instead we charge a £1 per person attendance fee each club night. This goes toward the clubs operation. Scenery and games collection as well as our Clubs Christmas Buffet. Which is held each year and is free for club members.
The club has a large number of table boards for war gaming and a goodly sized scenery collection. For a variety of scales from 6mm to 28mm. As well as a number of board games and card games for club members.
New members always welcomed and encouraged, and attendance at your first club night is free. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult however.
