Dark Realm Miniatures has been around since January 2006 and it has grown in to quite a project. From what started as a private project has become something I didn’t actually plan.
There is quite a range of miniatures that are available for the three races that have been present from the start of this project. The Andrayada, Kraytonians and Pax Arcadians are what I wanted to start with. And all have various models which will continue to expand as the project continues. I also wanted to have terrain pieces which will be expanded on. As I put ideas together on what I want. We have managed to be at Salute since 2006 and we have received quite a response. Especially when we had a participation game. Where people could see what we have for rules so far. it was nice to see people having fun.
Myself Doug Woodcock
My name is Douglas or Doug for short which I prefer. As many found out in our last Salute show. I am a huge fan of Epic and have quite a collection which I still add to as models come out. Now rather unexpectedly I have even more 6mm stuff through DRM. The project was something I wanted to do for myself and instead is now being bought by others who also like the miniatures. Which although still amazes me since it wasn’t planned. it is something I am rather proud of.
Bob Naismith
After quite a search I managed to contact Bob Naismith who has been with us from the start sculpting all our miniatures. Bob has done a great job in setting the standard high and the future models only get better. For those who don’t know Bob, he has a wealth of experience working for various companies. Including Mongoose Publishing with their game Starship Troopers. For those who followed the various versions of Epic. Bob had sculpted the Warlord Titan that was never released and is quite a rare find.
Mercenary Brush
Paul has been a long time friend and I think I got the Epic fever really badly when we first spoke about collections. And I began expanding my 6mm collection. That was along time ago now and Paul now paints the miniatures for Dark Realm. And the results are really impressive. The participation gaming board was also Paul’s creation and he did a great job even if it was stress at the time. The presentation was perfect to show of what Dark Realms is all about. Mercenary Brush has a lot of experience in painting commissions. And after seeing the quality and madness DRM miniatures just had to have that touch added to its display of miniatures.
The Future
There is still much to do and I would love to complete all the projects I have in mind for Dark Realm. Suffice to say that you will see a lot more from us and things will only get better. In the universe we are creating there will be much more to offer and other projects branching off from our 6mm range. Its also a great opportunity that we may see bear fruit sometime in the future. For now I am looking to get what we have well and truly supported in many ways and go from there. So I would just like to say a big thank you for the support DRM received, its what makes this project worthwhile doing.
Cheers
Doug
